Bilingual Parent Support
¡Hola!
My name is Fanny Santos. I am very happy to be the Spanish language BCL for MBES.
I was born and raised in Peru. I also speak some Cantonese and Portuguese.
The process of adapting to this country was quite a challenge as it is for most people who immigrate to a new country. But this effort has made me empathize and therefore have a passion for helping others who go through the same experiences.
In the past, I have had the pleasure of working in tutoring children and adults in both English and Spanish, which has deepened my appreciation for the role language plays in building connections.
My goal is to support our international families, provide guidance, and create a welcoming environment where everyone feels at home.
I am available Mondays and Wednesdays from 7am-3pm and Fridays from 7am-10.30am. You can contact me at Santosf1@fultonschools.org.
Saludos,
Fanny Santos

Hello to all the bilingual parents! We are ROCKS!
First of all, you’re not alone – you’re part of the amazing Medlock Bridge Elementary School family! I know this because my oldest son graduated from this school. When we moved to the USA, he was six years old, and his vocabulary had only two words: “Alex” and “restroom.” I won’t hide it, the first time here was tough. There wasn’t a day I didn’t think about going back home, but thanks to the wonderful teachers & staff at Medlock Bridge, and my husband, my son and I started feeling better after just a few months. By 5th grade, my son even took second place in the Spelling Bee – I cried with pride.
My name is Anna Zagoruiko, I am Parent Liaison at MBES. I’m fluent in Ukrainian and Russian, still improving my English (it’s a never-ending journey). When I first came to the USA, my English was very basic. I completed free ESOL classes at Gwinnett Technical College. Growing up, I was taught to avoid making mistakes, so I’m always a bit nervous about it. But here in Johns Creek, the people around me are so patient, helpful, and understanding. So, don’t be afraid – speak up and practice!

With respect
Anna Zagoruiko
